R. Edward (Ed) Kilby, General Manager - CCG

Education

        Bachelor of Science, Industrial Management, Clemson University

Experience

                   During attendance at Clemson University, Mr. Kilby worked as an associate industrial engineer with Owens Corning

                   Fiberglas to finance his education.  After graduation he became an industrial engineer with the same firm.  He later

                   moved into the sales field with Owens Corning.  In 1978 Mr. Kilby joined CertainTeed Corporation as the Plant

                   Industrial Engineering Manager.  After advancing to Operations Manager he left the production area to move into

                   sales again.  His career includes over 30 years of experience in selling, and sales/marketing management with expertise

                   in market analysis, business planning, developing new market niches and pricing strategies.  He is a skilled administrator

                   and strategic thinker combining strong relationship management with a business manager’s focus to meet and exceed

                   goals and objectives.  His last position with CertainTeed before joining Computer Consulting Group (CCG) was

                   Group Marketing and Product Manager for North America where he managed a global product line, representing over

                   50% market share and accounting for revenues exceeding $75 million.  Mr. Kilby is experienced in negotiating

                   multi-year supply contracts with values in excess of 10 million dollars.

                   Mr. Kilby joined CCG in March of 2004 to manage the firm’s computing support efforts.  Mr. Kilby is a strong

                   computer user and had experience in his previous corporate life of being the user the IT department depended on

                   to evaluate and recommend technology and software changes and enhancements.  He brings this resource and

                   perspective to assist our clients in defining their computing needs before the sale to insure the application will meet the

                   needs of the user.  In addition to these responsibilities, Mr. Kilby has worked on our parent company, UTEC’s

                   projects to negotiate the sale of excess power and on a wholesale power purchase contract.  Utilizing his analytical

                   skills he has also functioned as Analyst for utility rate and cost of service studies.

 

Recent Projects

                The following is a sample of Mr. Kilby’s recent project work:

                      Managed project to design, install, relocation of critical business data,  and startup of new system, server, and

                         network in new offices for Deep River Rehabilitation in 2004

 

                      Managed project to define, install, and startup of new system, server, and network in new offices for RWHC in

                         2004.  The project  included 2 servers, 6 workstations, 3 tablets utilizing wireless networking.

 

                      Managed project to design, install, and startup of new system, server, and network in new offices for Pyramid

                         Services in 2005.  Interfaced with phone and cable contractors as well.

 

                      Managed project to design, install, relocation of critical business data,  transition from Novel to Windows based

                         Server, and startup of new system, server, and network in offices for Steve Scarboro, CPA in 2005

 

                      Managed project to replace existing workstations, relocation of critical business data,  and startup of new system in

                         offices for Ivey Law Firm in 2005Managed project to replace existing workstations, relocation of critical business

                         data,  and startup of new system in offices for Ivey Law Firm in 2006

 

                      Project with Dillon Family Medicine to define future computing direction and support level for their 50 plus users.

 

                      Performed evaluations of workstation and server hardware and network performance.  Made recommendations

                         to implement improving overall performance and day to day support reducing downtime and aggravation factor

                         for all users.
